ROSEWEST - "Work The Bellows" - In Tha Ground Records
To keep control of any twisting, turning beast you must, at the very least, be confident that the control you possess is not going to be a fleeting thing, and that the creature at the end of the reigns isn't going to outsmart you and bite your face off. Luckily the snarling force of rosewest is just about contained by it's four members and the face-biting is aimed squarely at the listener. This five track EP is a vicious thing, it takes short, sharp turns and demented twists to deliver an outstanding, unpredictable, but never contrived math-grind attack. To even think in this way is one short step away from the looney bin, but then these guys are from Croydon, in deepest darkest South London, and that's enough to make even the most stable musician a bit doolally. [8.5/10]
